Due to the elevated wildfire risk, PG&E says more than 13,000 customers in parts of 13 counties and two tribal areas could be affected by Public Safety Power Shutoffs on Monday and Tuesday. The county with the largest number of people affected is Shasta, where PG&E says 7,709 have had their power cut.

CHICO, Calif. - More than 11,000 customers in our local counties may lose power on Monday due to increased fire danger caused by dry windy conditions. By 5 a.m. Monday, customers in the Butte County communities of Concow and Yankee Hill had their power shut off. By 6 a.m. customers in eastern Shasta County lost power near Round Mountain.

Pacific Gas & Electric Co. started to turn the power off for more than 800 customers in Shasta County on Monday morning due to dry and windy weather conditions in the North State. The utility said 823 customers in Shasta County are being affected by its Public Safety Power Shutoff (PSPS).

PG&E warned about 12,365 customers in 11 California counties and two tribal areas that it may turn off power in some areas Monday due to elevated wildfire risk, the company said.

Pacific Gas and Electric warned on Saturday of the possibility of power shutoffs in 13 California counties on Monday and Tuesday due to high winds and dry conditions, according to the utility's website.
