A weird week for BioWare just got a little weirder, as EA reveals in its new quarterly financial statement that Dragon Age: The Veilguard unperformed sales expectations by 50% for the company's 2025 fiscal year third quarter.

Even so, it’s clear that the Game Director Corinne Busch is ready to move on from the project and from EA altogether, as she has officially confirmed that she will be leaving the company. As of now, no additional departures from BioWare have been announced, and this doesn’t appear to be part of a wider staffing change.

But the situation could eventually mean that BioWare can fully focus on "making the best Mass Effect it possibly can"

EA has provided preliminary financial results for the third fiscal quarter, and it doesn't look good for Dragon Age: The Veilguard. The company has confirmed the game has not reached sales expectations and only met nearly 50% of the players Electronic Arts expected. EA FC 25 also failed to meet its targets.

UPDATE 4pm UK: Dragon Age game director Corinne Busche has now confirmed her departure from BioWare and EA in a statement to Eurogamer. In it, Busche said she had left the studio for a new post elsewhere, after being offered an oppurtunity to build a fresh RPG she "couldn't turn down".
