Airbnb.org—an independent nonprofit organization founded by Airbnb in 2020 to offer temporary housing for those affected by humanitarian crises—announced a partnership with local nonprofit 211 LA on Wednesday to provide shelter for those affected by the wildfires.

Airbnb.org has offered free, temporary housing to people displaced by several natural disasters, including Hurricanes Helene and Milton, and the war in Ukraine. Los Angeles residents in need can request temporary housing by filling out an intake form with 211 LA.

As tens of thousands seek shelter from the wildfires ravaging Los Angeles, the short-term rental site Airbnb has made free rooms available to evacuees and major hotels are extending discounted rates to displaced residents.
