Origin will be officially shut down this April. The reason is Microsoft's abandonment of the 32-bit operating system.

Now, however, EA has said Origins will no longer be available come 17th April. The reason for the shut down is that “Microsoft has stopped supporting 32-bit software”. As such, users will have to download the EA app but the publisher notes that this requires a 64-bit version of Windows and, naturally, hardware that supports 64-bit software.
