Parts of the Bay Area may experience power shutoffs on Monday in order to protect against wildfires, PG&E said on Sunday.

Thirteen counties across California, including four in the Bay Area, will experience possible power shutoffs in the coming week, PG&E announced. The power utility cites an elevated fire risk as the cause of the possible shutoffs,

PG&E on Monday is planning to shut off power to dozens of customers in Napa County as part of its Public Safety Power Shutoffs program, according to the Napa County Sheriff's Office.

Several Bay Area counties are at an elevated risk of seeing potential public safety power shutoffs to help prevent wildfires, PG&E reported.
