The man accused of stealing a Providence police cruiser over stateliness into Connecticut is set to appear in court on Monday.

Providence police said the Pawtucket man stole the police vehicle, which was parked near Rhode Island Hospital, at 1:46 a.m. Saturday.

Jared Remson, 27, was arrested in Preston after stealing a police cruiser in Rhode Island and driving it through part of Connecticut during a chase.

Investigators say they were contacted by Providence police that a stolen cruiser was on I-95 south crossing into Connecticut at around 2:30 a.m.
