U.S. automaker Tesla sold 68,280 China-made electric vehicles in October, down 5.3% from a year earlier, data from the China Passenger Car Association (CPCA) showed on Monday. Deliveries of China-made Model 3 and Model Y vehicles fell 22.

Tesla still accounts for more than half of the EVs sold or leased in California, but its sales have fallen, and other EV makers are gaining market share.

With shares falling and profits shrinking, Tesla Inc. is increasingly looking like the odd one out among its mega-cap technology peers. Investors worry that quarterly results will make the electric-vehicle maker even more of an outlier.

Tesla's year-on-year sales have dropped for the eighth month this year, with Australian EV buyers turning to rival brands.
