While the Boston Red Sox have made a number of moves this offseason, one of the most interesting has been the signing of former Los Angeles Dodgers starter Walker Buehler to a one-year deal with a mutual option for 2026.

Buehler gets a $3.05 million signing bonus under the agreement announced Dec. 28 and a $15 million salary this year.

Walker Buehler is eager to make an immediate first and lasting impression with the Boston Red Sox, based on his latest comments.

Walker Buehler signed with the Red Sox because he believes the club is primed for a breakout, and if the right-hander has his way, he won’t be coming to Boston alone.

A new hype video posted on the Red Sox's X account just twists the knife even more. In a clip from his introductory press conference, he says, "Hopefully I bring some value this year and get to play the rest of my career in Boston."

Walker Buehler signed with the Boston Red Sox last week and on Friday, he revealed why he chose the organization in free agency.

"I think this team is ready to be able to compete in the division and in the whole league,” said Buehler, a free agent righthander who signed a one-year, $21.05 million deal with the Red Sox.
