A suspect has been charged in a Birmingham shooting that killed one man and injured another. Andrew Blake Carter, 37, is charged with murder in the Oct. 30 slaying of 38-year-old Melvin Anthony Burkes, according to court records made public Tuesday. He is also charged with attempted murder for the injury to the surviving victim.
