ARLINGTON - The obvious narrative on the Rangers’ decision to send struggling Jake Burger to the minor leagues is this: Chris Young wasn’t going to be as patient with offensive struggles as he was a year ago.

The Rangers traded for Burger from the Marlins during the offseason in December, looking to replace Nathaniel Lowe, whom the Rangers traded to the Nationals. Burger hit .250 with 23 doubles and 29 home runs through 137 games with the Marlins in 2024 after he hit 34 dingers the season before with Miami and the White Sox.

The Texas Rangers are demoting slugger Jake Burger to Triple-A Round Rock, according to multiple reports. Burger, 29, is batting .190 with three homers and 12 RBIs in 30 games. He went 1-for-3 in Thursday's 3-0 loss to the Athletics.
