Turkey is making preparations for the possible evacuation of foreign nationals and its citizens from Lebanon, as cross-border fire between Israel and militant group Hezbollah continues, a Turkish defence ministry source said on Thursday.

Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan said that Israel's attacks on Lebanon targetting the militant Hezbollah group will continue as long as the West remains silent, broadcaster CNN Turk and other media reported on Thursday.

Turkey's foreign minister told his Lebanese counterpart on Wednesday that Ankara stood with Lebanon against attacks by Israel targeting the militant Hezbollah group in the country, a Turkish diplomatic source said.
