Goalkeeper Alyssa Naeher, who stepped down from the U.S. national team late last year after winning a gold medal at the Paris Olympics, was named the 2024 U.S.

The Penn State product won 13 of her 18 games and had 11 shutouts in her final year playing for the national team, including the run to the Olympic gold medal.

The title bookends an illustrious run with the USWNT that also includes winning the Best FIFA Women’s Goalkeeper in 2024 and being named to the Best FIFA Women’s 11. Naeher is only the second goalkeeper to win U.S. Soccer Female Player of the Year in its 40 year history.
