The shooting began after an "uninvited guest" was asked to leave, police said. One person was killed and more than a dozen wounded when gunfire erupted at a family party in Houston early Sunday, authorities said.

One person died and 14 people were injured in a shooting incident Saturday night in Southeast Houston. Police say the incident occurred a little after midnight in the area of the 6000 block of Cherryhill Ave.

An 18-year-old man died in the shooting. His identity was still pending notification to family members by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences late Sunday.
