Shreyas Iyer has been named captain of Punjab Kings ahead of the IPL 2025 season, reuniting with coach Ricky Ponting. Iyer was acquired for Rs 26.75 crore, making him the second-most expensive player in IPL history.

The Board of Cricket Control in India (BCCI) has announced that the 2025 Indian Premier League (IPL) season will start on March 23. During the BCCI Special General Meeting, Rajeev Shukla also revealed the appointment of a new IPL commissioner and confirmed Devajit Saikia and Prabhtej Singh Bhatia as the new secretary and treasurer respectively.

Vice President Rajeev Shukla confirmed that Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 will kickstart on March 21. The announcement came after much anticipation following the IPL mega auction in November 2024.

Ahead of Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025, each team strengthened their pace attack in the auction, adding some lethal fast bowlers who are expected to make a mega impact for their respective teams in the tournament.
