United Airlines Holdings Inc. tracks megastar Taylor Swift’s globe-spanning Eras tour to make sure they have enough airplane seats for her army of fans.

Due to the high demand for Swift’s tour, the Chicago-based airline tracks the singer’s tour dates and locations to ensure it has the correct number of seats available for fans to travel to her performances,

Specifically, the airline noticed a 25% increase in ticket sales when the concert was abroad. Levels would return to normal after Swift moved on. As a result, United tracks where the concert is heading to ensure the airline has enough capacity to meet the demand and take advantage of the influx of concertgoers.

For a long time, Swift has served as an economic force. In 2023, she reportedly contributed roughly $5.7 billion to the U.S. economy through her globe-trotting tour – accounting for not only ticket sales, but also traveling expenses, costumes, hotels, food, and other spending.

United Airlines doesn't have any bad blood with Taylor Swift, quite the contrary, as the pop star is driving up demand for its flights. At the Skift Global Forum in New York on Wednesday, a United executive said the carrier has seen a 25% uptick in demand for flights on weekends during which Swift has held concerts abroad.
