Iran and European powers Britain, France, and Germany have agreed to continue discussions on Tehran’s contested nuclear program following a round of talks held in Geneva on Monday, Iran’s state news agency reported.

Iran and European powers said they held "frank and constructive" talks on Monday about Tehran's nuclear programme, just a week before US President-elect Donald Trump takes office. Last week, French President Emmanuel Macron said the acceleration of Iran's nuclear programme was "bringing us very close to the breaking point".

Little progress on nuclear diplomacy is expected as France has warned Iran's uranium enrichment is "nearing the point of no return."
