Uglies is one of the worst-reviewed Netflix original movies in recent memory, but it still managed to stay on top of the Top 10 list for a while. Now it’s been dethroned by a new offering, and the future of it as a potential series remains unknown.

A Pretties movie, aka an Uglies 2 movie, has not yet been green-lit by Netflix at this time. However, in a recent interview with Scott Westerfeld, the author said that both he and Uglies movie director McG are on board to make a second movie.

Uglies director McG has responded to fans' biggest issue with the dystopian film starring Joey King.

According to McG, preserving that line was a key piece of the ending of the movie. "To me, it was everything," he told TheWrap. "I mean that that's the line that propels you into what we're certainly [hoping] are the second and third films.
