A federal judge has dismissed the charges against a Minnesota man accused of hiding a stolen pair of ruby slippers that Judy Garland wore in “The Wizard of Oz.” Prosecutors informed the court Monday that he died Sunday.

MINNEAPOLIS — A federal judge on Monday, March 17, dismissed charges against a Minnesota man accused of hiding a pair of ruby slippers worn in "The Wizard Of Oz" and stolen from a museum in 2005, after prosecutors said the man had died.

Jerry Hal Saliterman, who died Sunday, was accused of keeping the shoes worn by Judy Garland in ‘The Wizard of Oz’ buried in his backyard.
