Thiruvananthapuram: The Special Investigation Team (SIT) of Kerala Police has initiated the process to arrest actor Siddique in connection with a sexual assault case following the rejection of his anticipatory bail by the High Court on Tuesday.

Mukesh's arrest was recorded after the SIT, who is investigating the case registered against the actor, called him for questioning. The actor-politician appeared before the SIT at the Coastal Police Headquarters in Kochi in morning and was grilled for over three hours.

Mukesh was released minutes after his formal arrest on the back of an anticipatory bail he secured earlier this month. Comes hours after Kerala HC denies bail to fellow actor Siddique on rape charges.

Following the Kerala High Court’s rejection of Siddique’s bail plea in a rape case, the Kerala Police plans to arrest the actor, who is accused by a former actress of assaulting her in 2016.
