Phillip Schofield has landed his first role since dramatically exiting This Morning last year over an inappropriate relationship with a colleague. Phillip Schofield Cast Away for Channel 5 will see the former ITV host spend 10 days and nine nights on a remote, unpopulated island off the coast of Madagascar.

As the latest contestant on the Channel 5 series Cast Away, Schofield is joining celebrities including Ruby Wax and Joanna Lumley, who sign up to spend 10 days on a remote tropical island off the coast of Africa, with nothing but some basic survival gear and several thousand pounds’ worth of camera kit.

Schofield, 62, left his role as a daytime TV presenter on the beloved show beside Holly Willoughby after it transpired he had embarked upon an affair with a much younger male colleague. The presenter publicly came out as gay in 2020 and received an outpouring of support.
