Rohit Sharma stunned the cricketing world with his decision to retire from Test cricket recently. The 38-year-old took to his social media, where he posted a picture of his Test cap with a message. Rohit wrote,

Rohit Sharma has retired from Test cricket with immediate effect, meaning India will need to name a new full-time captain almost immediately after the end of IPL 2025, with India's five-Test series in England scheduled to begin on June 20 at Headingley.

The legendary called time on his Test career on Wednesday, May 7. He had already bid farewell to T20I cricket last year after leading India to the T20 World Cup title in Barbados. Now, the 38-year-old will continue captaining India in the ODI format only.
