Some Northern California residents woke up to 3.6 magnitude earthquake Saturday morning, according to the United States Geological Survey. USGS said the earthquake struck around 8:30 a.m. in Walker. The area is about 100 miles east of Sacramento and 37 miles southeast from South Lake Tahoe.

The earthquake was detected at 2:47 a.m. local time about 2 miles northwest of Aromas with a depth of 4.59 miles, the science agency said on its website and in a social media post.
